Journal 7

In module 7 it was a very small discussion but I was able to learn more about each post that everyone posted. The discussion about suboxone and methadone which is such a huge topic because of how people get addicted to this drug when it suppose to be getting a person clean, I enjoyed hearing another persons view on the issue and the facts she gave me taught me more, including the information in the book on top of the websites that were given in the discussion. The other post about drug offenders which is another hot topic since its dealing with money used by people who aren't jail. I learned new facts about that issue and the websites were useful. I enjoyed everyone's comments and I feel I put in good effort. As always your comments were very helpful and have helped me throughout with all my classes. I did not find any vocabulary words that I didn't know.

Journal 6

In this module, the main focus of the discussions was marijuana and the positive and negatives, in one post someone had posted a link with the negative and positives of marijuana, the good outweighed the bad. Which I already knew but the negatives was something I didn't know along with some of the positives.  The only issue with discussing marijuana is everyone has a different opinion about it and if it maybe should be legal or shouldn't, but I feel the issue was discussed well and everyone put in their opinion and it worked well. I enjoyed everyone's in put on the topic and liked to hear what others have to say. Also a big thing in the reading was steroids used in athletics, such a huge thing, something that people hear about in the media but I'm sure people don't really know the things it can do to an individuals body, I never knew how many different types of steroids their were. Along with the fines that come along with the use of steroids. Learned a much of new things about steroids that I didn't know. Enjoyed others view on this topic. Also one person brought up the topic of meth labs in houses which was amazing and apparently a bigger problem in new york then I knew after doing some research, made me want to look into that topic.

Journal 4

In this learning modules I learned such much from just my discussion question, I wrote mine about culture drinking and how different religions have different believes on drinking, some drinking for certain holidays or certain days of the year that mean something to them.  A big one that was noted in the book was the Jews and Irish, which I didn't know either of them were huge drinkers, which I guess I should have since St. Patrick's Day is such a big drinking day. The book had a lot of useful information but the individual that replied to my post gave me two websites that told me more about what exactly St. Patrick's Day is really is and more on the reason that Irish people drink the way they do. It was very interesting information that I enjoyed learning since drinking is such a big thing in today's world. In this module I actually took the time to read everyone post even after I posted mine and replied to others and found everyone had valid points and questions, which made me think. I put in probably more effort this modules by reading more post instead of just doing the required work which was nice to learn more. I enjoy your comments because they always help me to improve my discussions and its usually the little things that I forget in my post. I had one word in this discussion that I actually looked up to see exactly what this drug was it was Benzodiazpenes which is a type of tranquilizer that is commonly known has Valium or Xanax, which are very common in the United States to be prescribed to people often. That was the one word that I found that I wasn't to sure what it was and glad I looked it up.

Journal 3

In this learning modules like the last I learned something new, which I love doing in this class. One of the students had posted about FDA and about how not all drugs are not tested by them and just put on the shelves at stores, which I've never really thought about, I don't really look at the bottles on the vitamins that I take to look for if it is FDA approved since they are recommended by my doctor, but that made me want to maybe take a closer look at the vitamins I am taking. That was a good point to make to people in that discussion. Also I enjoy reading other peoples point a views teaches me others thoughts on drugs and the things that are being discussed. I'm extremely opened minded and love to hear other peoples views it will help in the future and help me to always learn more. I posted about drug courts for my discussion question and got great feed back and also learned a little more about the 12 step program, which I think is a huge thing in the road to recovery.  I plan on doing more research on that topic more. Like always you had great feed back on all my post and will help me in the future not just with this class but other classes I am taking online, greatly appreciated. I feel I am posting to the best of my ability and always looking at what everyone is posting either on my post and on others. I didn't find any words that I didn't know in this module either.

Journal 2

In this learning module, I learned a lot of new things and also learned more about this I had been wondering about for a while, such as the things about genetics causing drug addiction or being part of it. I had done research about that topic a little bit last semester but didn't do much and with this class I was able to actually look it up in my textbook and do more research on the internet. I enjoy to see things in numbers like the statistics in most of the links I posted in the discussion, it really helps me to see how big or small the problem is that is being discussed, I learned how big of a problem drugs in the workplace can really be and was also able to put my own personal experience in it. I also enjoyed what others had to say about my research and the question I posted. Peoples view and thoughts I enjoy then it makes me want to do more research on there questions and find out more. I liked that you replied to all my post telling me what I was doing right and wrong, it really helps me to improve my work. I feel I put in the right amount of time with my discussions I actually write out my discussions by hand to make sure I have the right amount of information and everything is correct, grammar, enough information and said the correct way. There weren't any new words that I learned in this learn module, most of the things that I posted I knew and what others posted I knew.
